When temperatures fall below freezing, staying warm isn’t the only concern. Property managers and business owners also need to find ways to keep crucial components from freezing. BriskHeat’s SpeedTrace and SpeedTrace Extreme heating cables can accomplish just that.
SpeedTrace can save buyers hundreds or thousands of dollars in repairs. The convenience of being able to use the plumbing and sewer system as intended in freezing weather without having to worry about potential catastrophes with the simple use of heat trace is well worth the peace of mind.

Heat Trace System Add-Ons
While the SpeedTrace heating cable works well on its own, there are some additions that make it even better. These are especially useful for individuals looking for better insulation in consistently low temperatures.
Foam Insulation: Our INSUL-LOCK® DS is suitable for both residential and commercial applications. It is compatible with our heating cable. In some cases, it can be compatible with an existing one you might have, but we cannot guarantee this. The foam insulation provides an R-value of 3.0 and adds a half-inch thickness. It is easy to install and resistant to moisture, so you can use it both indoors and outdoors.
Thermostatically Controlled Outlet: Even though the heating cable does not require any additional heat controller, you could save energy by turning it off when you don’t need it. A Thermo-Cube outlet can accomplish this by turning on and off, based on the ambient or surface temperatures.
Adhesive Tape: You will need adhesive tape to install your SpeedTrace heating cable. You might already have some you can repurpose. If not, try ours. Note that our fiberglass adhesive tape can handle temperatures up to 350°F (176°C), so use these numbers to determine whether what you already have is a good fit for the job.
Roof and Gutter Kits: The complete kit for installing heating cables on your gutters or roof could spare you the headache of trying to figure out what you need. The individual cost could also add up significantly. By purchasing our system, you can also count on compatibility with the heating cable.
Energy and Safety Specifications
Whether your building is off-grid or you just like to keep a keen eye on your energy bill, you likely want to know how much energy the SpeedTrace heating cable will use. It runs off AC power and uses supply voltages of 110-120VAC, 208-277VAC. This energy is transported in 12 AWG bus wires and features a power cord that is 30 inches long.
From a safety standpoint, it handles temperatures as cold as -40°F (-40°C) and as high as 150°F (65°C). It also includes a flame-resistant and moisture-resistant outer jacket to protect it.
